Swiss Master Scholarship 2012

Swiss Master Scholarship – The Universität Bern offers six Master Grants for the academic year 2012/13 for excellent international students. The grant consists of 1’600 CHF per month for the duration of the Master’s programme (standard period of study). Application files will be examined by a selection committee. Criteria for selection are academic excellence and the candidate’s potential and motivation.

For further information about the Master’s programmes offered at our university, please contact the concerned Department directly. All Master’s programmes of the University of Bern are offered except “Biomedical Sciences”.
Preconditions:

Applicants must have graduated at the latest by the end of July 2012 with at least a Bachelor’s degree in the wished field of study
This Bachelor’s or Master’s degree must be from a non-Swiss university
The applicants permanent place of residence up to now must have been outside of Switzerland

The applicant’s file must include the following in duplicate:

Application form (see downloads)
Curriculum vitae (max. 5’000 characters without blanks)
Letter of motivation with objectives
2 letters of recommendation from professors of your current home university (with institutional letter paper and signature)
Evidence of sufficient language proficiency in German or English according to the language of instruction of the intended Master’s programme (German: C1; English: B2)
certified copies of the Bachelor’s Diploma and transcript of the grades obtained during the Bachelor’s studies
or recent confirmation (not older than 3 months) by the home university that the Bachelor’s degree (in the same study field as the intended Master’s programme) will be completed by the end of July 2012 (with a list of grades obtained up to now)
Copy of record of school-leaving examination (i.e. university entrance qualification)
2 passport photos
Copy of passport
For the Master’s programme “Biomedical Engineering”: GRE General Test

The application must be written in the language of the corresponding Master’s programme.

The complete application package must be submitted in duplicate (1 original, 1 copy) by postal mail. It has to be arrived not later than December 1st, 2011 at the:

NB:

Incomplete application files and E-mail applications will not be considered!
Fulfilling the above pre-conditions does not create an entitlement to a grant.
With only six grants to offer the University will have to refuse also qualified applications. The University will not be able to explain refusals.
The submitted documents will not be returned.
This application will not be considered as an application to a Master’s programme as a regular student.

Lund University Global Scholarship 2012

Lund University Global Scholarship programme is targeted at top academic students from countries outside the European Union/European Economic Area (and Switzerland). Scholarships cover 25%, 50%, 75% or 100% of the tuition fees. The scholarship value is deducted from the tuition fees of the programme or free-standing course for which you are awarded a scholarship. Please note that the Lund University Global Scholarships do not cover living costs.

Who is eligible?

Citizens of countries outside the European Union/European Economic Area (and Switzerland) who have applied for Bachelor’s or Master’s level studies at Lund University for a minimum of one semester of study (the equivalent of 30 ECTS full-time study) and who are required to pay tuition fees.

This scholarship programme is not open for students from the following 12 countries: Bangladesh, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Mali, Mozambique, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia. Students from these countries should apply for the Swedish Institute Study Scholarship.

Please note that currently this scholarship programme is not open to students who have already started the programme or course for which they would like a scholarship to help cover tuition fees. Please instead refer to information on the scholarships for current students webpage.

Study in Japan: Postgraduate Scholarship Program

Study in Japan with scholarship available for postgraduate. The Hitachi Scholarship provides an excellent opportunity for Southeast Asian universities to send faculty members, who wish to continue teaching and research at their universities after graduation, to Japan as part of their human development programs. Recipients of this award are invited to attend Japanese public and private graduate schools that have close relationships with Southeast Asian universities. The Scholarship provides financial support and personal assistance and consultation.

Eligibility for the study in japan program is limited to faculty members up to the age of 30 for masters degree candidates or 35 for Ph. D. degree candidates in the fields of scince and technology and each applicant must be recommended by a senior staff at their home university as a potential candidate for international reasearch collaboration after graduation. Each grantee receives full financial support to study Japanese for six months after arrival. The Foundation funds tour programs every year to visit various location in the fields of industry, science technology, research, culture, history, society and nature so that the grantees’ experience and understanding during their stay in Japan will not be limited to one campus.

Bat Research Scholarship for International Student

Bat Research Scholarship can be applied online at www.batcon.org/scholarships. The proposal, budget and student curriculum vitae should be included with the application. Templates for the proposal and budget documents can be found on “Step 6” in the application form. All submitted materials must be in English. Applications will not be accepted via mail. Only online and electronic applications will be accepted.

All application materials except letters of support must arrive by December 15, 2011 to be considered for the coming year, and applicants are strongly encouraged to submit all materials well in advance. Submitted materials may be rejected from the review process for any of the following reasons:
1. Project does not meet the conservation goals of the program.
2. Sufficient materials were not received prior to the deadline.
3. Submitted materials do not meet submission requirements.
4. Applicant does not meet eligibility requirements.
5. Significant changes were submitted after the deadline.

Applicants whose submissions are rejected prior to review will be notified via email.

Notification of acceptance or rejection typically will be made within 90 days of the submission deadline. BCI may choose to grant the full requested amount or may grant only a portion of it, conditional on reviewer suggestions and available funds. All recipients will be required to sign a standard reporting and completion agreement and liability waiver. Upon signing of the agreement, BCI will write a check for 80 percent of the awarded amount, made payable to the sponsoring college or university. BCI does not allow any overhead, administrative or indirect costs to be taken from the awarded grant money by the supervising institution. Payment of the remaining 20 percent of the grant will be dependent upon timely submission of progress reports and photographs of project activities to BCI, with the balance paid upon submission of the final report. EuroPhotonics Master Scholarship at France, Germany, Spain 2012

The EuroPhotonics EMMC Master course gives an extensive two-year Master level teaching program focusing on advanced research and applied topics that will constitute the near and extended future scientific goals in the field of Photonics Engineering,Nanophotonics and Biophotonics,with interdisciplinary applications.
